Should your headlights be brighter? How to tell.
This is a great time to take a quick look at your headlight’s lenses. They should be clear like the glass of a flashlight lens. Yellow or white haziness forms as the plastic deteriorates over time. This severely affects how the light is focused down the road. Similar to putting wax paper over a flashlight’s lens. This low light condition affects the driver’s vision dramatically, becoming a safety hazard. It blocks and absorbs a portion of the light from even leaving the headlight assembly and scatters the light that is similar to a light diffuser which destroys the beam’s focus down the road. It can be an illusion when looking AT the light because it might appear bright (or dim yellow in severe cases) because the lens are glowing with the captured light instead letting it passing threw. Yet when looking WITH the light it is obvious that the light does not penetrate darkness a safe distance to drive down the road/
Headlight Restoration manually removes the deteriorated layer from the lenses, polishes them crystal clear, and adds a UV protectant clear coat that “restores” the light’s beams focus down t he road allowing you “Drive Safe.”
Headlight lenses deteriorate so slowly they commonly go unnoticed!
